Formal and Student Evaluations
Formal Evaluations
The following are formal observations and evaluations I received during my Student Teaching experience. The first two images is a disposition evaluation from my cooperating teacher, Carmen Davis. The next 5 pink entries and documents are from my English Education Advisor, Dr. Shana Hartman, and the last three formal evaluations are from my Cooperating Teacher, Carmen Davis. I was observed and evaluated on various aspects: Instructional Time, Student Behavior, Instructional Presentation, Instructional Monitoring, Instructional Feedback, Facilitating Instruction, Communicating in Educational Environment, and Performing Non-Instructional Duties. These observations and evaluations provided me with a lot of feedback which I was able to apply in order to improve into a better educator.

Student Evaluations
I had the privilege this past semester of my Student Teaching to receive some student evaluations and nominations. The first picture I've uploaded is a couple of student nominations I received for teacher of the month. Even though I was not really eligible for teacher of the month as only a Student Teacher, I was very touched by my students' comments. The second picture is a couple of student nominations I received for being a teacher with "AVIDtude." Avid is a program at Shelby High School whose mission is to "close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college readiness and success in a global society" (avid.org). Every 9 weeks, each student in AVID is asked to nominate the teacher s/he believes has made a difference in his/her education and that embodies the ideals of AVID. On long and discouraging days, all I needed to do was turn back to my folder containing these nominations and evaluations to remember that it is all worth it, that the reason I'm doing this is not for me, but for these students.
